Abstract

Aromatic polyimides constitute a group of special polymers with excellent thermal and mechanical properties. However, they are insoluble and infusible due to strong intermolecular interactions. For this reason, approaches are sought that would lead to an improvement of these properties and open the possibility to extend the use of polyimides. The interest to protect the environment leads also to searching for an alternative, namely, recent feedstocks, which could replace the fossil ones. This work is focused on the use of potentially recent monomers for synthesis of polyimides and their properties.
