Abstract

Enzymatic digestion of analyzed proteins represents an important step of mass spectrometry-based proteomics. The present review summarizes recent alternatives to the standard protocol developed for efficient and fast protein digestion, such as application of organic solvents, microwaves, infrared radiation, ultrasound, and enzyme immobilization.
